Awards and Achievements

Recent Highlights

  • Seven Oklahoma State seniors recently won the prestigious Gerald Lage Award for Big 12 student-athletes. This award is for students who have earned 100 hours or more with a minimum 3.80 cumulative grade point average. Those who earned the award are: Jenna Blumer (equestrian), Ryan Lester (football), Janelle Martinez (women’s track & field), Michael Martin (wrestling), Brittney Reid (women’s track & field), Paige Wikle (women’s track & field) and Taylor Woodall (softball).

  • Three senior student-athletes have been named Seniors of Significance for the 2014-15 academic year by the Oklahoma State University Alumni Association. The Seniors of Significance Award recognizes students who have excelled in scholarship, leadership and service to campus and community, and have brought distinction to OSU. Only 44 students were chosen campus-wide this year. Christien Sager (men’s basketball), Clara Telford (women’s track & field) and Paige Wikle (women’s track & field) earned this distinction.

  • Paige Wikle (women’s track & field) was named an Outstanding Senior by the OSU Alumni Association. The Outstanding Senior Award recognizes seniors who excel through academic achievement; campus and community activities; academic, athletic or extracurricular honors or awards; scholarships and work ethic during their time at Oklahoma State. Only 15 students were selected for this distinguished accolade.

  • Oklahoma State had 28 student-athletes named Arthur Ashe, Jr., Sports Scholars in 2014-15, including four Top 15 finalists. That gives OSU a total of 201 all-time recipients.

  • Caitlyn Way (women’s track & field) and Nick Miller (men’s track & field) were both named CoSIDA first-team Academic All-Americans in 2014. It was Way’s second-such honor.

  • The Scholar Baller® Academic Momentum Award™ for improved academic performance was awarded to Madison Allen (women’s track & field) and Desmond Roland (football).

  • During the 2014 calendar year (spring and fall semesters), Oklahoma State had 100 student-athletes named to the Academic All-Big 12 squads.

  • Forty-eight student-athletes were listed on the President’s Honor Roll during the Spring semester of 2014, while 55 were honored during the Fall of 2014.  Members of the President’s Honor Roll achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA during that semester.

  • Seventy-two student-athletes were listed on the Dean’s Honor Roll during the Spring semester of 2014, while 96 were honored during the Fall of 2014. Member’s of the Dean’s Honor Roll achieved a 3.5 or better GPA during that semester.

  • Oklahoma State had 266 student-athletes named on the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll (3.0 or better GPA) for the Spring of 2014 and 301 listed for the Fall of 2014.

  • Courtney Dike was named the Playmaker of the Month in January of 2015 by the National Consortium for Academics and Sports. The award recognizes those student-athletes who exemplify the NCAS motto of “Changing Lives Through the Power of Sport”.
