Agatha Dean Adams

About me: I have worked with student-athletes since 1989 and have been at OSU since 1985. I taught high school in Okmulgee for five years before coming to OSU. I have four daughters and 10 grandchildren, and am married to a wonderful man, Oscar J. Adams, Sr.

Hometown: I grew up in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, a small town south of Tulsa.

High School: I was a member of the last graduating class from Dunbar High School.

College: I attended Langston University. My undergraduate degree is in Secondary Social Science. My master’s degree and doctoral work is from Oklahoma State University.

Favorite music: Jazz, R&B, Gospel

Favorite book: I have so many. Good romance novels.

Favorite movie: I can’t recall

Favorite quote: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Hobbies: spending time with my family—Grandkids, cooking, reading; playing games

Something not everyone knows about you: I guess it would be that I like to laugh and have a good time.

Best advice for college students: Set your goals and the ride will be easier. You might have to adjust but you will know what direction you are going. The ride might be tough but anything worth having doesn't come easy.
